‘Mickey Mouse’ Gas Mask

Hello folks.

Hands down, this has to be my favourite respirator. There’s a juxtaposition about the thing; the childish colouration, the toy-like appearance of it, coupled with grim wartime necessity.
This one is very much complete, with its box and retaining the pamphlet that would have been shipped with each and every one. For one reason or another, it also wasn’t returned for the fitting of the arsenic prefilter as per 1940 regulations.
They were the only civilian gas mask that could be returned postwar for money, and as such many were recalled and recycled. They’re substantially rarer these days as a result, and I’m very pleased to own one.
It’s rather scabby, with scuffed eyepieces and a repaired tear to the facepiece, but it’s very much ‘all there’ and a very surreal part of Home Front history.

Photos to follow.

Regards, B.B.

Heer or RAD Uniform?? Relic Uniform

Hello
What are your thoughts on this tunic?
Buttons are dated 1936.
It looks green in the pictures and some say it is a brown/olive color?
One ink stamp looks RAD?
Thank you for your help
Tony

Infantriesturmabzeichen in Silber, Unknown Maker, 4 Rivet.

Another recent addition to my IAB collection. :)
This example is in excellent condition with no wear to the hinge or catch fastening system although these are known to be weak. This one also retains most of the silver finish on the obverse.
Ralph.

Luftwaffe Officer Schirmmütze

I picked up this visor from my local antique shop this past Saturday. I had been looking at it for a few months waiting till I had enough extra funds to actually bring it home. I’ve done what research I can on visor caps in general, but am no where near confident in determining with 100% certainty its authenticity. I tried taking the best pictures I could in my limited space so my apologies if they are not up to standard. The day I brought it home I spent quite a while looking it over, and I noticed the faint printing on the sweatband, eventually making it out as the Erel insignia. From that point I did my research on the lovely forum you guys have built here, checking out any other confirmed Erel made caps. From my limited knowledge, my visor seemed to hit those points, as the eagle and the interior stitching both look correct to me. I’ve tried taking photos of the critical points and in as decent of lighting as I could manage. Any opinions or advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Order of the Red Start #0230

10799151079916

Hello,

This is my first post as I just joined today! I have been reading many posts and GREATLY appreciate all the insight and comments.

I purchased this Order of the Red Star and can not place it? It is silver and worn, the markers mark being on the bottom is unusual, and the extra D is not normal, plus the low serial number of 0230? Do I have a fake or a replacement, or just an unusual one.

Any insight would be most appreciated!

Thanks, Michelross
