Thank you for looking.
I picked up this dagger recently with an amazing blade. I don’t believe I have ever come across an Anton Wingen Jr. before and upon a closer inspection it appears that the scabbard shell is without leather wrap. I spoke with somebody that mentioned it was either WKC or Wingen (they only remembered the Knight logo) that had a crackle finish paint that was issued like this, void of leather exterior. Is there any truth to that, is that what I have here maybe? There is one scabbard screw missing from the fitting but then again I have found unmolested daggers fresh out of the woodwork with little things like this, though it doesn’t help the case for this NOT being a painted and messed with shell. I have tried to show the best I could on this one, and any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
