Thuringen Forestry Insignia

I recently added these to my collection. Although I have nothing else forestry related in my collection, I really liked the appearance of these. :)
The condition and price were also a factor in acquiring these.
It is believed they were in use as a cap badge until it was replaced by the NSDAP pattern of eagle. This was later replaced by the regular national state eagle. This lion was also seen on forestry buckles.
Ralph.

for sale DD M35 NS66 helmet w/ chinstrap and bullet ding

by: all1knew

Description: Hello all,

Here’s your chance to pick up a fantastic combat helmet with some real character! This used M35 Heer helmet was struck with a bullet at some point that luckily did not pennetrate into the shell. The liner system is fully intact. NS66 stamped shell and complete with a 1937 dated chinstrap. Certainly a conversation starter and a bit different than the rest on the shelf…

1941 Romanian War Bond

From my collection. Another example of ‘failed’ state material which seems common though out history even to this day.

I’m guessing you don’t see these very often. Interesting that it would ‘pay off’ until 1966 after the final ‘Victory’ was achieved (assuming the defeat of the Soviet Union)! Any translation would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

My Aussie Slouch Hats

Thought I would share my two Australian made slouch hats. The first, which I bought a couple of week ago is a 1944 dated RAAF version complete with the thong suspended sweat band and 4 side vents.

1065910 1065911 1065912

My second hat, received just yesterday, is a Post War issued hat dated 1952. The puggaree is dated 1955 and has the RAAF flash on the right hand side.
Unlike my RAAF hat, this has only 2 side vents abd the edge of the brim is trimmed.
