WWII Japanese Samurai Sword SHIN GUNTO (1943 by Seki Showa Swordsmith Kiyomiya )

Here is one of my prized WW2 Japanese militaria possessions second only to my Arisaka type 99 with non-defaced Chrysanthemum and intact aircraft sights. :)

This sword has a blade length of 26.25 inches (66cm). I believe it was manufactured in in 1943 by Seki Showa Swordsmith Kiyomiya <—- (not 100% on that info)

Wwii m1

I picked up this pot at an Army-Surplus store a few years back. I could tell by the stainless rim with the front seam what it was, but am completely unsure about the paint. Opinions anyone?

Not a Helmet as such - But a Kurland Panzerrelic rescued nevertheless….

Hi All,

Apologies in advance for posting in the relic helmet forum, feel free to move the post moderators if you see fit! I thought someone might like to see another "Oxylic acid special" come to life.

I came across this German Panzer blackout cover on Ebay from a Latvian seller. As it seemed to retain a fair bit of the original "Gelb" & seemed still pretty solid I thought it may make a great reference piece. Anyhow, after several baths & sealing this was the result - I was pleasantly surprised to see more of the Gelb and even the "Bosch" logo emerge. The rear blackout flap also was able to move again after 70+ years in the ground! The seller claimed it was found near a road in the Priekule area of Latvia - this was a hotbed of activity in the Kurland battles. Unfortunately I can’t prove it’s from a Tiger or Panther - Several vehicles used this light.

Hope you all like,

Regards,

Dan

Need help! 37 mm flak 42 action

I am make 3D model of gun from WWII just for the fun of it. I have model a 37 mm flak 43, I would like to animate it, but I have no idea about how it action work. Any draws or pic of the action and explanation on how it works would be most appreciated. All I know is that the action is hybrid system using both gas and recoil
