Question Mystery sword

Just came across a a sword in old family belongings.
I know nothing about swords so not sure this is even the correct place to be asking questions.
The sword marking are “Eickhorn SOLINGEN” It has the number 1202 on the handle and the scabert. The Handel also has “C.E/39″ which is also on the scabert.
There is also another small stamp I can’t make out. Could possibly be No A253.
Any help with history or value would be great. Thanks

IJA T90 Helmet

Not sure if I have posted this one before. It is a pretty minty complete T90 IJA combat helmet. Even though I had this for years…wasn’t cheap back then either…

Appears to be sized small "/|\". Stamped <S> (Kobe Steel)

There are also two other sets of stamps (Maybe "23" & "16") but can’t make them out.

There is also the ink stamp on the underside of helmet liner. Can anyone give me an idea of what it says?

Hope you enjoy! This goes well with my new IJN helmet with 2nd Pattern cover.

Regards,

Michael

Japanese Kanji on telescoping patriotic flag

I’ve had this little collapsible silk patriotic flag for years in the back of my cabinet. Nothing rare or valuable, but a nice display piece for my other Japanese militaria.

Should be a easy one but does anyone know what the Kanji is?

“Beam Me Up Scotty….”

Saw this on FB and thought it worth posting. Old Scotty did his bit it seems.:D

Lt. James Montgomery "Jimmy" Doohan, 14th Field Artillery Regiment of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.
(March 3, 1920 – July 20, 2005)
At the beginning of the Second World War, Doohan joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and was a member of the 14th (Midland) Field Battery, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division.
He was commissioned a lieutenant in the 14th Field Artillery Regiment of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. He was sent to England in 1940 for training.
He first saw combat landing at Juno Beach on D-Day. Shooting two snipers, Doohan led his men to higher ground through a field of anti-tank mines, where they took defensive positions for the night. Crossing between command posts at 11:30 that night, Doohan was hit by six rounds fired from a Bren Gun by a nervous Canadian sentry: four in his leg, one in the chest, and one through his right middle finger. The bullet to his chest was stopped by a silver cigarette case given to him by his brother. His right middle finger had to be amputated, something he would conceal during his career as an actor.
Doohan will forever be remembered as the Scottish chief engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott on the popular science fiction television and film series ‘Star Trek’.

The Words They Are Afraid To Say.

I was disappointed to hear the attack in London yesterday constantly being referred to by the Metropolitan Police as "International Terrorism" rather than what it actually was, a religion based hate crime claimed by the terrorist Islamic State "Caliphate".

So you can imagine how outraged I was to see another egregious example by the "Islamic apologists" within the government and the Met earlier today of forcing British police officers to pray towards Mecca in front of Westminster Abbey.😲

Collection room addition

I volunteer restoring planes down at my local museum and I acquired this pilot side window off of a sikorsky H-19 helicopter which is beyond restoration. I painted some RCAF things on it (not perfect) im not the best painter but I thought it’d make a good tribute. 10595981059599

U Boat Deck Eagle

Hello All,
as ever in my pursuit of exotica this eagle came up on auction on flabby and I just had to have it…..

Yes I bought the story rather than the item because apart from the 1990s auction catalogue blurb there is absolutely no evidence to where this bird came from.

The auction blurb went something like: taken from a U boat off Torquay. Damaged by gunfire etc.

The seller put down the weight as 20Kg which I thought for a hunk of bronze it would be worth a bid either way.

It turns out to be 5Kg.

It has a wingspan of 24 inches.

So to the pictures:

Quite an impressive looking bird I think

The gunfire damage:

So looking at the eagle and in particular the legs it looks to me as though this was originally perched on to something.

This for me is not a story killer as some time ago I picked up a denazified Luftwaffe eagle which again was supposed to have come out of a u boat. (http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/art-de…ght=boat+eagle)

The wings have two threaded holes that would have been used to mount it directly to a backplate.

All I need to corroborate the story is a u boat vet who has a picture of it inside the boat!

Any thoughts or opinions welcomed

Cheers
Doug
