Frundsberg SS Tunic

Hi,

A little old lady contacted me and said that her husband died and he had this in his closet. She is pretty old and I am having a hard time getting good pictures sent to me but this is what I got. I am fairly certain it isn’t real but I would hate to be wrong because she’s asking 200 dollars. What does everyone think and please tell me why so I can learn. I compared to old threads and the eagle seemed ok to me but the SS threading looked wrong.

Russian gas cape

I just recently bought the book "The Soviet Soldier" by Philippe Rio and there is a photograph of a Russian gas cape and a diagram of how to wear it on page 94.
Does anyone have more information about the gas capes? I have not been able to find any information about them for several years.
What kind of material were they made of?
What were their dimensions?
What did the pattern look like?
What color were they?
If anyone can also post photos, that would be great!

In fact, I would enjoy learning more about all of the various accessories that were supposed to be in the Russian soldier’s gas mask bag. I would like to use it as an historical teaching aid.

Thank you all for any help you can offer.

Need help! Reading a Wehrpass

I have a copy of my Uncle’s Wehrpass from the Luftwaffe and was wondering if someone could help me interpret the information to identify what units he was with during what times.

Heer M43 HBT

Hello I am new to the Forum, and was wondering about this M43 HBT tunic. It looks original to me very well used but I am not an expert on German uniforms so I wanted to post it here. Thanks in advance

NSDAP vulc fibre visor reshaping

Read through some threads re. reshaping visor hats and found some useful info on reshaping the general form and possibly linerband but found no real info on how to reshape the actual visor (circled in photo). It’s not damaged or anything, it’s just that it (the vulcan fibre visor) has this annoying asymmetrical bend to it (the natural bend is more to its left than center, where it should be) and it’s just an annoying thing that makes it look a bit goofy… and I can’t help but think it shouldn’t be that tough of a fix but I just don’t know how….:p (you can barely see it in the photo provided due to the angle)

Any advice on this?

Adrian Helmet - Bulgarian finally

Not sure which forum to put this one on!
Got this last Sunday. Didn’t know the history of the helmet, what with the liner affixed with 3 big brass rivets, and the dubious Imperial Russian badge. Google has shown me that the helmet ended up with the Bulgarians, with the liner having the ink stamp*DVF in Cyrillic, the liner being WW2 I believe.
I assume that the badge is a fake - from what I can see the badges were removed by the Bulgarians. The colours on the badge and the tabs (pictured) are interesting though, and the badge seems to have been on a good while peering behind it with its shadow on the paint.
I liked the colour and sheen of the helmet - but the original paint appears to be lightish green.
Can anyone add more?
Cheers,
Tony

Battle of Britain - Great Videos

Saw this on TV today and thought that they did a really great job. It’s nice to hear the full speech every now and then. I think the beginning is as powerful as the ending. There is also a great deal of footage that I have not seen before. On a lighter note…. I see the lions head sword that I just bought being held by some of the marching soldiers. :)
