J.C.Maedicke Krimschild

Hi guys, this one just arrived today. It´s an original krim made by J.C.Maedicke. Being told that most of these shields were found in the exact same condition as this one, side tabs and with brown backing cloth. It is highly likely that all of these shields were found in the early 80’s at Breslau. Hope you like it, regards, Juan

Unit: Luftgau-Nachrichten-Regiment 11-(334)

My uncle was in this unit from 1940-43 and I was trying to get as much information on it as possible. Locations where they operated and possibly what his occupation was within the unit. Anyone have any suggestions where I could obtain some information.

Thank you

Help with cap eagle

Hello everyone.

I have seen this cap and and a woven arm eagle. I would like to ask for an opinion regarding its originality. I am not experienced with this type of insignia. I have tried looking on the forum to find similar to compare without luck. Although I can usually appreciate what constitues a poor quality fake, I do not have the ability to see the finer details with this type of insignia. I assume it is a fake, but just in case . . . Kind regards, Malcolm.

Need help! Help Identify WW2 Dutch East Indies Cannon

Hello, first of all i don’t know where i should put this. :o
Anyway today i got these pictures from a 1939-1942 dated magazine. It’s an artillery unit from the local kingdom in Dutch East Indies. The kingdom of Kasunanan in Surakarta at that time owned an artillery corps called "Jagasura" and they’re equipped by the dutch east indies government. So my question is, what the type of that cannon? I already search everywhere but no avail. :(

Swedish? Norwegian? What?

I’ve tried this on a FB site that concentrates on Norwegian helmets, but no result yet. So we’ll see what You Lot have got to say. It is an interesting thing anyway.

On first glance it looks like a Swedish M26. It has the small crest along the centre line of the shell that is found on the Swedish M21 and the Norwegian M31.

The chinstrap is rivetted, not sewn as seems to be normal for the M31. Also, it seems identical to a type of strap used on the Swedish M26.

It has the metal liner band of a Swedish M21 - or a Norwegian M31. The metal liner band is not identical to that which I see in photos of the M31, but is more like that of the Swedish M21. The liner pads are not sewn to the liner band, as in in the M31, they are held by split-pins.

It does not have an applied rim, and there is no sign there ever was one that has been removed. There is no sign that a frontal crest, either Swedish or Norwegian, was ever in place.

There are no markings or stampings of any kind on shell, liner, or strap.

I am really confused. This helmet seems to have the characteristics of three different types. It is always possible that is has been assembled from parts, but perhaps there is another answer.
