Got today a very interesting piece.. an american 1917 Chauchat in 30-06 (it turned 100 years old!!)
despite the design, i have to say that this is the worst machinegun ive ever seen :D

Updated Planned Award Numbers for the China Incident Commemorative Medal

A non-smudged version of the same document I discovered 6 years ago has now emerged to give legible precise award numbers initially anticipated for the so called Chinese Collaborators’ Medal, so this new chart is posted as an update.http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/japane…45-a-610821-5/

Just don’t expect to find any Chinese collaborators in there. Or the collaborator theory believers now have to explain how Japan could have been so popular to have gained more than 3 million Chinese collaborators!

M42 Afrika - pile of sh@t or

I - sadly - belong to a FB group - and the level of knowledge on there is astounding - 99% of them are a bunch of F’tards -

This helmet was posted by a member who supposedly has over 200 helmets all with stories ( he calls it provenance)

This Helmet was featured in the Armourer magazine in 1993 in an article on the subject.
Inside are a pair of indistict but well formed SS runes. Strange as the SS was only in this theater of ops in an advisory capacity (apparently)

The orange tan paint was an exact match for the Tiger Tank at Bovington before it was restored and repainted in gulf war sand.

When I questioned the configuration - palm tree??? on a 42??? - I was told it was done by the SAS soldier that !captured" it -

Make your own mind up on this one - but when asked for extra pictures - they were surprisingly - not forth coming - I know my helmets and this one is contrived to decieve ( artificial tooling marks - and a lot of other things besides)

I don’t think he took too kindly to people questioning his pride and joy :p

M38 Fallschirmjäger ET68

Came across this Fallschirmjäger helmet, and I haven’t spent enough time in study on these to know if this is real or not. Seller is claiming it’s high end reproduction, and typically I take people’s word at that. But, after spending a little time researching these, this one seems to have some of the hallmarks of an original, such as the tooling line along the inner crimp if I understand that to be the indented line running along the inner edge of the rolled over crimp. If nothing else, this seems to be a good chance to learn something new in an area of the hobby I’m really not comfortable in at this time.

In case this is one of those once in a lifetime chances at something hard to get, I thought I would see if I could get some opinions on it. Thanks everyone so much for your time, and your thoughts. I really appreciate this community and its dedication to the history and guarding the originality of these relics.
