Hello, so my family has had this German helmet since the end of World War II. The man who wore this helmet was one of my great uncles brothers and because it had no ventilators I assumed it to be a postwar. But as soon as I payed more close attention to postwar and World War II helmets, I noticed it had all the holes for a band unlike like the post war ones that I have seen that had none. I also noticed that most of the Post wars had a rolled edge unlike mine which has the sharper edge. So I then I saw a few photos of M45 ventless helmets and then I began to think of what kind of helmet I have. Is this an actually rare M45 stalhelm? If it is, what price could I get for it? I know it is a a Size 64 and the numbers on it are CKL54 5661.

So, I recently aquired this canvas kit bag believed to be linked to the Royal Army Medical Corps RAMC. :confused:

If that is the case, I was wondering if there were public files available, so one could research. Or were these files dedicated for past servicemen and women who fought only?

The name is D.W. RANDALL - No. 7347559

The brand ‘Union Brand Trade Mark Regd No. 288117 Made in England’ - Could the regd no. give a clue as to the age of the piece. 28 Being the year? Again, this is something I’m yet to look into.

I would be very grateful for any information that can be shared.
