I dug this one out of a pile of fake Luftwaffe cloth badges a few days back, happily paid the dealer the asking price of 10 bucks….:p

(and yes it is a real one, the fakes have a slightly different look to them).

Hi guys,
Been looking at this helmet and would like some opinions on its authenticity with a view to buying. I do understand however that this is possibly a KIA or WIA and due to either graphic or moral issues I understand if this thread needs removing.

The listing states it as below

Good complete battle field pick up combat helmet. Small calibre bullet strikes which have come from the inside and have impacted on the shell with resulting outward dents, most likely from a pistol. Corresponding holes to liner. Also another bullet strike to the outside below the right air vent. Evidence of blood in the liner.
Liner leather good, full length chinstrap.Owners name in Gothic script to rear apron "Reimer".
Large size 66. Codes partly obscured by name.
Superb " Been There" helmet

Hey everyone, I ran into this medal today in an antique shop and it’s one I haven’t seen before. As usual, English information is scarce online and I am on a trip so I am without reference books. Can anyone lend some insight and history to these awards? And an approx value? Thanks!

I picked this up several years ago at a flea market without knowing anything about it and I’m sure I did not pay too much for it. I would appreciate any information on it as helmets are not my field.Many thanks, Dave
