Hi all!
This is my first post on this forum and I’d like to show my first gymnasterka. I’ve never had any experience with soviet militaria before. I really need your help with this one-M43 pocketless version. I heard that this is wartime manufacture but Im not sure if it’s original or not. For me it looks quite nice. Fabric has lots of stains, it also has strong and very characteristic smell of old fabric. Front buttons are steel painted with green paint. Shoulder buttons for pogoni are a bit strange, these are large, aluminium buttons painted with dark-green paint, very similar to the buttons used for shynel coat IMO. What do you think about this one?

I purchased this parade mount of two ww1 medals at an estate sale and was told by another that the medals are reproduction. everything I see tells me set is good. am I missing something? thanks for comments.

Hi fellas,
I’d like to share with your a very nice piece in my collection, it’s my MG42. This was produced in one of the final batches in 1944, making it a very late war MG42.

Another thing to note, is its Dual Tone appearance, few parts are blued, and some left bare metal, this was to save manufacturing time and churn more out, only needing to blue less parts. It also has the flip up sight, original marked butt stock, all parts are original by the way!

On the bare metal parts there is a beautiful patina, and the condition is excellent, haven’t spotted any rust!

But the best part is cocking and dry firing it, having it shudder into your shoulder, I love it!
