Named Engineers MKII

Picked up yesterday from one of the dealers I know in the Cardiff area, though not the one from whom I have bought a few over the last few months.

No sign of the makers mark on the shell but the MKI liner is by Vero and dated 1939. The sheel is a back overpaint over the original green with a large E for Engineer to the front beneath which is a small K. Under the brim it is named to G. Kipling which I assume accounts for the small K already mentioned.

This helmet was formerly in the collection of one of our regular helmet spods.cool militaria

Anthropoid-Let me pose you this question….

Hey guys,
Seen as though ‘Anthropoid’ has just been released in the US, and will be in the UK next month, I was thinking today, would the 2 Czech’s who killed Reinhard Heydrich, still have carried out the attack knowing about the repercussions at places like Lidice and others? I mean in hindsight we are all amazing decision makers, but this is a very poignant question question. So I’d like to ask you, if you were one of the Czech assassins and you knew what would happen at Lidice if you killed Heydrich, would you still have carried out the attack? Was one man worth whole villages of people being massacred, even if he was the worst of the worst?

My latest pick-up today, a banner of the: ‘FEDERATION NATIONALE DES COMBATTANTS REPUBLICAINS’ (FNCR for short). The banner is made from very heavy quality material with letters and insignia machine-embroidered. The pole is a tad over six feet, and the flag is 2′6"X3′.
