Question. G.H osang police buckle.

Hi I have a G.H osang police buckle with tab that I picked up a few months ago when I was going through a buckle collecting frenzy, the buckle I’m sure is good the tab however seems to me to have been added later as the stitching appears new. My question, is the buckle considered fairly scarce as I cannot seem to find much information on this particular maker and also the tab being a later addition would that make the buckle less desirable? Thanks for any help and your opinions in advance.

Cheers John.980824980825980826980827

British Entitlement to WW2 US Victory Medal?

Hi all. I received a group including a boxed defence medal, a Royal Signals cap badge and this ribbon bar. I am puzzled by the presence of the ribbon for the US victory medal on the ribbon bar. I cannot find any information about British or Commonwealth soldiers being entitled to this award but I could be wrong?

Maybe it was "self awarded" but seems like a random medal to choose. Would there be any circumstances whereby a British soldier attached to the US army would be entitled?

According to his medal slip he does not appear to have ben eligible for any campaign stars, and a note in the box says that other awards he claimed for were inadmissible.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Any one have any thoughts on this flashed British Mk II ?

A friend and fellow collector has had this British Mk II helmet in his collection for some time and has asked for some assistance in identifying the army group that it may have been used by he can not find a comparable that would have been used by the British army and thought that it might have been a Canadian flash …
I have searched through all the reference material and images that I have and as well have drawn a blank if any of you gents have any thoughts on this particular Mk II any input or to the army group and or possibly the country of origin would be greatly appreciated…
I have as well searched out war time flashed SA examples on the off chance that it may have been used by one of the other Commonwealth Nations…

It appears a mild sharpening was performed to the blade but it only adds character to this obviously combat worn piece. The walnut grips are tight and free from any major issues. If you’ve always wanted one, here’s your chance to pick one up at a great price!

Cobra / Battleskin / Revision market price

So, they’ve started to appear on the market. ‘Last I read was that 9,000 had been ordered/supplied to the BA and I saw my first one for sale on eBay a week or so ago. The complete set (helmet, Revision bracket and goggles + mandible piece) was going for c£950. I’ve also seen the bracket and mandible piece on a non-Cobra for c£500 and about the same price for a bracket and mandible (no helmet). Amongst my thoughts are will "plod" be watching out for early sales as was rumoured for the Mk7….and how fast will the price fall?

When the 7 came out the earliest one I saw was around £450….and now, if you’re lucky, you can pick one up for £45……..let’s see what happens to the Cobra…..

And finally….will there be one at W&P next week for fifty quid?…..perhaps not THIS year. notcool
