Very clean example of a MKII, a BMB 1941 dated shell with a mint 1940 dated liner, size 7, makers mark is not clear but has a M visible, so probably BMB same as the shell. Obviously it has been overpainted at some stage, hopefully wartime and its very clean condition which is matched by the liner suggests that it was period done. It has a greenish MKIII chinstrap fitted which is fraying and degraded but is otherwise very clean and matches the condition of the rest of the helmet.
There is no sign it ever had a logo on it, and I assume it was intended to be for a Warden or similar.

Hope you enjoy. Although I have a lot of awards, to date I did not own an original EK1. Have been looking for one for years that would catch my eye.

This one did!

Not a minty, never worn horde find, but an honest issued and worn Vet pickup.

Overall it is in very good condition with just the right amount of wear. Nice heavy patina.

I know L/58’s are known to have been produced post war but this is a right as rain wartime award.

Hi guys.

I have reciently seen on Ebay a group of japanesse medals.
The left one I think it is the Order of the Rising Sun 4th Class, but I am in doubt. Is it a real medal or a fake one?
The medal’s union with the Paulownia flowers is different.

What do you think about it?

Had this one for a while. It’s got a lot of paint left, some surface rust throughout but all solid — the stenciled Warning labels still shows all over the tube, although a bit faint in places. Seems to have been stored or buried in a relatively stable and dry environment (lots of red sandy soil all over when first received), never fired.

Amazingly enough the seller, which is a very well known European dealer, managed to ship this to me with the black powder charge still intact — I was not happy. The charge has been emptied now though but there’s still something blocking the tube — looking at cross section images of this type it appears this would be the tail fin still in there… could anyone confirm?
