OK, I’ve been rather harsh about the War & Peace Show on another thread.

But, on a more upbeat note, I thought it’d be interesting to show that our hobby can still be enjoyed without a massive bank balance - provided you’re ready to look hard.

So, I was pleased to put these two items together from War & Peace (s) ; an 88mm Flak 18 armour-piercing projectile (with correct, narrow driving bands ) bought at W&P last year for £50. And yesterday, a dealer was obviously trying to unload a pile of those ex-Finnish steel shellcases for £15 each. I rummaged through them all to get one with clear base stamps - 1942 dated.

I haven’t even had time to clean the rust off. But for £65 all in, it’s not a bad historical display item, I think…….

Thought id make a quick post whilst in the process or reorganizing things. Made these stands for a few of my helmets today. 10" base with a dowel leading to a 4" top for the helmet to sit on. Total cost was only 15$ for the dowel which is good for roughly 6-7 stands (wood board came from work at no cost :p). If only I had a router to make a decorative edge…

A friend of mine showed me this one yesterday, he bought it in the UK many years ago, and was content in his belief that this
is a period made cap, I said that in my most humble opinion, I wasn’t thrilled with the cap, and I believe it to be a post-war
creation. My reasons, the K.H. Flauder maker stamps are a worry, and the actual shape of the cap is not what I would expect with
a Luftwaffe officer cap, nothing wrong with the insignia, but a post-war cap I think, however, I am happy to be proved wrong,
some photos of my visit yesterday….

Hello everyone,

Here is my Canadian C1 bayonet for the C1 and C1A1 Self Loading Rifle and C1 submachine gun made by Canadian Arsenals Ltd (formally Longbranch) in 1960. I’m not sure about the rest of the world but these are pretty scarce in Australia. Its missing the scabbard screw, anyone have any ideas about where to find an original spare (without buying another scabbard)?
