I’m interested in mailing a WWII Commando Fighting knife to the UK from here in the US, but from what I could find, it is not permitted because it is a military style knife (1943) and not over 100 years old. Can someone with experience with this give me some insight? I would prefer not to risk loosing it due to it’s history.
I started a thread about the v or Roman numeral 5 on a helmet I just bought. Question do you think a found a picture of one just like it. The man is in the middle at the back of the transport, you can see what looks like a v on the helmet. Mod. If there is a way to join both threads go for it. All good eyes welcome.

It has a brass roll pin belt buckle and 2 leg loops secured by brass buckles all very 37 pattern style.
It has been modernised by the addition of a white nylon rope and 2 plated snap gate clips not shown.
Essentially it looks like a climbing or safety harness.
Hi all, I am posting this for a friend who got it from a carboot. I believe that it is a raw edge MK1 rather than a later MK1 that has lost its rim as I think the paint might be the original apple green and it goes all the way to the edge and so does the characteristic ripple effect (although it is hard to photograph). I assume it has been used for civil defence in WW2 due to 1940 dated MK2 liner and the strange home made chinstrap. Any thoughts on this lid would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
