Picked this medallion up at the weekend and would like to share it with you.
It is 60mm in diameter and metal is 4mm thick, it weighs in at just under 100 grammes. No metal content marks anywhere. I washed it wth soap and water to remove accumulated grime, but did not harm the original chemical shading. It appears to celebrate the 25 year jubilee of a glider club (1911-1936) based at Stuttgart, Germany. I would appreciate any local knowledge as to the iconography, e.g., the temple like building displaying a Christian cross depicted on the obverse, and the prancing stallion depicted on the reverse.

Hi Guys

Thought I would share this example with you.

This is a Bedrucktem Stoff or Printed Fabric ISA.
It matches others I have seen and one in particular shown in Klietmann’s book "Auszeichnungen des Deutschen Reiches 1936 - 1945".

These also share the same characteristics as the known cloth Wound Badge examples.

After some negotiations with the previous owner, it now resides in my collection.

Because these have not been seen on tunics in period photo’s, they remain a controversial item…interesting to me none the less.

Anyone know anything about the Sauerland helmets. I was under the assumption that they were generally scavengers and took whatever they can get. Is anyone familiar with whether or not they actually put decals on helmets? I have an opportunity to trade on this if anyone can help.
