Hi everyone, just bought this little flitlock traveling pistol for a good price. It looks to be of probably French manufacture and made c.1790. It is shown here with a watch dated 1814 and book dated 1793. Any comments welcome. Doug

I am looking for a quote which have been said by a General or Commander, concerning the choice of battles.

During a conversation, someone asked him "how did you win all your battles?"
And he answered something like "I won all my battles because I only picked the ones I knew I could win"

Do you who said it and what is the exact quote?

What can you tell me about these sets of rank stars and the hat eagle.

I think the hat eagle is either repaired with a screw post or perhaps is intact but has just lost the spinner.

What about the rank badges? Are any of them Polish?

I picked this Up seems to be authentic- I don’t know much about German buckles.
My concern is the back side of the buckle and how the hardware is attached not in a straight line
seems to have honest wear in my opinon
Anyway
What do you guys think in advance
