brit mk7 helmet cover’s

Just to share these two multi terrain pattern cover’s i have for the brit mk7 helmet ,my question is why the differance ,the one with the scrim is more like the older mk6 cover in style with horizontal and vertical foliage bands, the other has only two horizontal foliage bands and no reinforced ear section’s yet both show mk7 label’s :confused:964805964806964807964808

Tap 56

I’ve been looking for an unmolested french airborne helmet for many years now so was really pleased to find this salty example ,all original including the chinstrap which i should say is in a delicate way but i can live with that ,reproduction replacements are readily available but my own thoughts are they have no place over originality no matter what the condition hence the reason it took me so long ,just to give some form to the 3 point strap ive carefully stitched a length of thread where the missing webbing section should be ,the liner is dated bang on the nail at 1956 and has number 9 engraved in the side ? ,the battered and bruised shell shows a carpentier cusset maker mark paint remnant i can only speculate this too will be 1956 dated cool militaria964774964775964776964777964779964790964780964778964793964792964791964794

Mk2 FAP

Hi to all,
I have this Mk2 FAP, it seemed interesting to me, because usually I saw them black painted, also the helmet appears complete and in good condition.
Shell: F&L 712 1/1939
Liner of first type: J.C.S. & W. Ltd I 1939
Size: 6-3/4
The chinstrap is of a type I had not seen, I believe an early version.
I also noticed that the welding of the edge-covering link is lateral and not back, I was wondering if this is a feature of this particular manufacturer (F&L).

Greetings
Roberto

Himmler, Heß and Wolff - Visit to Dachau May 1936

An interesting image taken on May 8th 1936, showing Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler (centre, with back to camera), with Stellvertreter des Führers (the Führer’s Deputy) Rudolf Heß (right, back to camera) and Himmler’s chief adjutant Karl Wolff - visible to the left, standing by a signpost erected near to KZ-Dachau.

Of note is the detail of the signpost - look closely and one can see the wording Konzentrationslager (concentration camp) but also the finely detailed sculpture work depicting several prisoners being herded by camp staff - there also appears to be a guard dog visible to the right hand side of the structure as shown.

I took this image from an information point at the Topographie des Terrors (Topography of Terror) exhibition located at Prinz-Albrecht-Straße (today, Niederkirchnerstraße) and Wilhelmstraße in Berlin last year. See links below for more details:

Hi all, got home from work yesterday to find this little baby had been delivered. With regards to the supposed new deac law, this is not welded solid and does field strip. Cocking lever works but no dry fire, all though the trigger does move. So the law has not come into total force as of yet. Also cheap at just over £200 quid.964723964724964725
