HI Chaps
I felt a bit like the chaps out of american pickers to day I was invited to my friends barn here in the UK to look at some bits that had been there since my friend could remember he is in his 80’s ( see the WWI Imperial German thread for the M16 helmet and the MKII / MKI TOMMY HELMET THREAD FOR THE BMB MKI 1941 . ) Here is the HSAT MKIII its had a over paint but underneath you can see the blue rectangle underneath 3 names to this example its a BMB 1944 dated liner hope you enjoy steve

An WW1 Mk1 which has WW2 markings of the Ministry of Health, most likely the original owners helmet from the first World war.
Bad storage over the years have left it a bit tired, but all in all quite a hard one to find.

This pic, which I saw posted elsewhere on this forum, appears to show an Unterscharfuhrer wearing both a Danzig Home Guard and 2nd pattern skull (Oberbayern) cuff title. As had been mentioned previously, the Danzig unit was disbanded in 1939 and the men reassigned to other TK units. Now I was wondering what was the policy regarding the wearing of two cuff titles in the WSS? Also, does the positioning of the Danzig title over the Oberbayern title indicate the Unterscharfuhrer had served in the Danzig unit first and then was reassigned to duty at Dachau, or vice-versa? Finally, why do you suppose he’s wearing a runic collar patch instead of a TK, which would seem more appropriate?
