I found this odd and, apparently, unofficial badge on a Latvian History site (https://latvianhistory.com/tag/latvian-ss-legion/)and thought I’d ask if anyone has any further info about it and might even have one? The photo on the web site simply said "The Badge for wounded soldiers in Courland" and nothing else. Crudely made, i imagine-if it is genuine-that it was field made.
Looking through stuff in my basement I found these. I had them since at least 1995, I wish I had the ones I sold to Manions back in 1990’s. It is a large poster.
First one is a poster from town of Radom, General Government. Signed by Karl Lasch, governor of Radom District.
It sets official buying/selling prices for food, and services. Prices of services for transport, communication, restaurants and hotels are to remain same as of 1 September 1939.
In certain cases when the prices of materials went up, and one could prove it, one could raise the price by no more than 40%.
Also interesting the price difference between Towns of Kielce, Piotrkow, Czestochowa.
Last paragraph says that violators will be punished, in certain cases by Death. For gauging prices will all will be held responsible: buyer, seller, purchaser and provider.
Dated 26 January 1940.
Well I dont win all the online auctions I go for .. :weep:
Sometimes you have to stick with your $ limit and if some other bidder wants it you have to watch it go.
This is such an example. On the back of my Junkers JU-52 relic win I had also bid on this 3 colour cammo lid off some German piece of equipment I just liked the patina and vibe it gave out and thought it too would be a neat addition to the wall. But it was not meant to be
Anyway, here are a few photos of one that got away for discussion.
Has anyone seen this type of cammo pattern before? It is quite fine considering the overall size of the piece ( 35cm x 17cm ) I dont doubt its originality but surprising to see ALL 3 colours on something this size.
Any ideas from the armour guys?:confused:
As expected (inflation you know), prices of Polish militaria has begun to creep up. However, recently I have seen some insane prices, especially on Allegro. Items are going for 2x, 3x, or even 4x what they were only a couple of years ago. It is pricing me out of the market almost!
Has anyone else noticed this? Thoughts as to the reason for this trend?
