So not to tie up the other thread, I just wanted to post this one for an open discussion, I am open to all opinionscool militaria, this is my first British decalled lid, I had one canadian saskatchewan mg with a decal, I got theis SWB off a friend? lol, who got it out the US, probably paid OTT for it, anyway, it does appear in sleepy condition just a question on the decal, use and when? am comfortable having it in hand its been like this for a while, just the context is puzzling, few more pics page 37 here Cheers John http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/helmet…urs-380667-37/
I’ve seen more examples of this type of artillery compass but they were always in the standard Soviet army colour.
Perhaps this example was intended for use in the Soviet Navy or Air force.
Unfortunately I can not find much about the operation of this optical device or WWII dated pictures of Soviet soldiers using this artillery compass.
All I could find was this Russian website; ÐÑÑиллеÑÐ¸Ñ .
I only know that it was used by field artillery and engineers. Who knows more about this artillery compass or has pictures of Soviet soldiers
who are using this optical device?
