One I have been considering.
This one looks ok to my (inexperienced) eye.
One thing I noticed is the the stamped air vent looks a little un-even in thickness, but may just be the light.
Apologies for the small pics. The fact the swastika is rubbed out in one pic is a bit strange considering the site its advertised on allows swastikas. May indicate a failed ebay sale.
Any opinions from the experienced are always much appreciated cool militaria
Up here is a nice clean 1st model Tropical Pith Helmet. Asked my friend how much and the price was CHEAP!!!! So I grabbed it without asking any questions or looking too closely.
Later as I was settling up I noticed that… hmmm…somethings not right. What is the "Made in Germany" stamp on the leather liner. I went to put it back and was told that actually this is not uncommon. Back in the 70’s these leftover but original lids were sold and imported into the US and thus requiring the stamp.
The helmet looks 100% legit to me otherwise and for the price, if it is original I could care less…
Any thoughts?
Michael
P.S. Mods: If this belongs in the cloth headgear section. Please move.

Here is my first question.
It has "Made in Germany" on the Ritter Alum marking on the bottom, i thought when the war started they stopped stamping items "Made in Germany" for importing?
I am curious why this has it never noticed before on others.
And is there a way to judge what time frame these items were constructed at factory?
Cheers! cool militaria

Any hel would be greatly appreciated. I’m very curious about this flag. It is beautiful in a historical and creepy kind of way. Haha. Thank you!
