Way out of my depth here, passable pic from seller, "Grandpa picked it up on some island", "Peruvian" he then said, but must be thinking of some other name and got it mixed up. Does that ring in itself any bells?

Hi All,

I was looking for a nice storage box for my field gear - and just saw this:

Looks like a British (or US?) ammo metal box - with German paper stickers (8.8 cm flak) and a DAK logo - I guess trying to look like a "German booty" box.

So is this a post war box?

"C238 MK2 SV57A" markings on top

I don’t mind if post-war, really I only need it for storage…and this one looks quite good.

im looking to find information into the 1st pz. div. A.A.5 does this mean anything?? I figured the A.A. was aufklarugs abtielung??( a motorized artilery reconnaissance unit) .. I have seen pictures with them on motrcycles and half tracks towing howitzer canons.. and in the snowy fields of Russia. with the howitzers. but when I type in the A/A/5 I don’t get a hole lot of info on searching internet..in pictures he had second class iron cross. Russian front medal and general assaultbadge and black wound badge then upgraded to a silver wound badge after he lost his eye when there tank hit a mine. I saw the L.A.H emblem on the shoulder patch in picture.. and double v on left arm.. with 4 white stripes on his colar tab..and the adoph hitler arm band.. im just trying to decipher what this information meant..anyone a expert with some insight?? thx

Gents, my 57er Faithful Service Cross collection…………..all early detailed strikes with frosted appearance and polished highlights, 25 year & 40 year cross medal for public Sector/ civil Service and the 50 year for service in the Private Sector/ Free Enterprise the same basic design as the 25/40 yr medals, but the wording on the reverse now reads "fur treue arbeit" instead of "fur treue dienst"…………..
