FS fighting knife first pattern

Hey guys I’m new to this forum. Been reading this forum for a couple years now. Thought I’d share a couple of my items that I have so far in my collection. This dagger was my grandfathers. He was a British commando in World War 2. Who brought this dagger back which was issued to him. It was past down to my father who just passed it on to me not too long ago. Within the first 10 minutes I had looked up the markers and found out it was first pattern FS fighting knife. I started to read some information to my dad well this dagger which we both didn’t have an idea on too much of its history other than it was issued to my grandpa. Found out it was quite cool dagger. I love it, after reading about it I was so excited to own a piece of my family’s history. Man that looks like a deadly dagger! Definitely well made dagger. Extremely solid. Anyways here’s some pictures. Done with my phone so best that i could get.

Question French army coat 1956

Hi Guys - I don’t know too much about uniforms - especially French ones - I saw this coat for around 15 EU (here in Hungary), looks nice with stampings (1956 date, etc.) Made of heavy wool(?) and size 2 (if I’m looking at the right marking). They are in new condition…
I was wondering; is this really an army item, and would be ok if I pair it with a French M51 helmet (inner metal helmet is 1952 dated - plastic part is 3rd type post 1958)?

THX for any help…

Fabe

The seller also has a larger size 3 coat as well…

Need help! Veteran Bringback Bronze Infanterie Sturmabzeichen “W”

This thread really pains to write… I recently found a great veteran bringback grouping in the trash. Within it, was a beautiful "W" marked Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in bronze. The catch was pretty severely bent, but it was there and the finish is near 100%.

A few hours after finding it, enjoying it, taking photos, etc. I went to go put it away in a plastic sleeve and I dropped it… No more than 3 feet, but it landed right on the catch and the catch broke off. I am so angry and disappointed at myself. The badge survived the war, was captured and brought to the US, survived the garbage… only to be broken by me…

Here are some photos:

I found the catch… part of me wants to try to repair it. Part of me wants to leave it. I’m glad I saved it from the trash… but I am so disappointed in myself. :weep:
