Hello All,
Just finished cleaning up this helmet supposedly found in Saldus, , Latvia
I have never seen this type of camouflage ( if it is indeed what it is) Faded winter camo?-
It looks like concrete.
Any opinions appreciated. yes a replica chin strap for show.

I share with you some rare pictures (in color and w/b) of fighters Lockheed P-38 Lightnings captured and with German and Italian markings during World War II. I wasn’t sure where to post this one. But given that it is a design of Shako which pre-dates WW1 and is still in use, I thought it might sit well in here. It is a French Shako of the Ecole Speciale de Saint-Cyr Military Academy. The condition of the helmet it absolutely superb. There are only two or three spots of slight moth damage where the nap of the cloth has gone. All the patent-leather is free from damage, with just slight crazing to the peak. There is a makers stamp inside… ETs J BARRAU - PARIS - 6.8.10 CITE RIVEBIN. It isn’t modern - I am reliably informed that the helmets have been made with plastic components for quite a while. It certainly looks very impressive!

Hello All,
the badge below is up for sale and I have a dilemma.
Is it an original badge that has had the cast in hardware removed and replaced with some soldered fittings OR is it a complete reproduction.

Any help or opinions on this one would be appreciated
