Strange Auxiliary Cruiser Marking

Hi all,
I’m looking into purchasing a fairly salty Auxiliary Cruiser Badge, but am concerned about the markings. This badge is marked "26" which is an unknown mark to me. Perhaps some of the badge experts out there can lend me a helping hand.
Thanks, Jake

Vietnam Vet Rediscovers Powerful Self Taken Photo’s After 40 Years.

Here’s an article in the Daily Mail that shows some very evocative photo’s taken by Vietnam vet Christopher Gaynor in 1967-68. He kept them locked away for 40 years until rediscovering them in 2007, and he has recently shared them on his Facebook page after they rekindled his desire to reconnect with old comrades and start working to help veterans which eventually led to him becoming a consultant on a re-enactment film about the war called "In Country".

He clearly had an eye for a good photo as these shots are far better than many available on the internet today, in short they are excellent and at the same time thought provoking, as some of them are of buddies of his who didn’t make it back home. A wonderful and humbling set of personal moments frozen in time.

Need help! Kriegsmarine pith helmet? Let me know if I should post in steel helmet forum

Good evening from Ohio -
Let me know if this should go in the stahlhelm forum. I believe this to be Kriegsmarine, and wanted to get some opinions here. Coming from a local vet for a super price, so I just wanted to reach out and get some feedback. Blood rot on the liner is definitely a weird aspect. This is being included in a package deal I am picking up. Any thoughts for me? Before you say anything about the pictures, I know they suck. The guy is an absolute terrible photographer. These pics were his third attempt at sending me something different.

WWI Surrender-Leaflet in German…

I’ve done some research on WWI Leaflets and have discovered that this particular example was designated "Leaflet #2" by the US Forces involved in Propaganda Distribution…The paper has been glued with a cloth reinforcement on the reverse, called "Doped Paper" to add weight to the leaflet, which allows for better targeted drops, rather than have them scatter wildly throughout the area by the wind…

German Soldiers!
Turkey and Bulgaria have been beaten in the field.
Austria is demanding an immediate Peace.
Ludendorff has submitted his resignation. Why?
Every minute new Americans are landing in France. You could be killed during these last weeks, or even worse, be crippled for life. Is it worth it?
You should think about this.

Cheers, Glenn
