A single fairly bad pic of these two tunics which I’m going to look at in the morning, so, somewhat short notice… Seller claims 100% original, only a couple owners since the war. The green one is supposedly dated 1939, so an M36 tunic, the other looks like an M40 or M43 with interesting shoulder boards, maybe a DAK color/shade? I should have asked for better pics but too busy with work today to even think about it.
I got these boots at an estate auction of a WW2 veteran who served in the Navy. I assumed they were Navy boots but cannot find any WW2 Navy boots resembling these. Are they military? They look well worn and I cannot find any markings? Could they be motorcycle or aviator boots? Thanks.
Here is my new HJ. A very interesting buckle and a believe a rare bird as well :). The roundel, prong bar and prongs are magnetic. The box and C catch are not, so think these are brass.
Interesting maker mark here. I searched the HJ/DJ threads and on a previous thread David North posted a DJ with RZM 40. So, based on the information there I believe the maker = M1/40 C. Meinel & W. Scholer (Klingenthal) cool militaria
My friend just got back from Russia where she went with some friends that are well known diggers in the area where she is from. They collect remains when found and they also give items to Museum’s with the larger stuff they find, like field kitchens, bikes, ect…
She brought back this item that was found along with a comb found in Novgorod forest where they call in the "meat forest". There is a story behind the whole thing how she ended up with it, but to get to the point, has anyone ever heard of this unit ?
Here I have an Iraqi M90 and these were produced by Iraq unlike the M80. Iraq was in a bad way militarily and financially after the war with Iran as Iraq had relied heavily on importing its arms. This attack on Iran upset Russia (Iraqs main supplier) which was basically seen as siding with the western powers at a time when tensions were high between the west and a Soviet backed Iran. The M90 was not as good as the M80 with cheaper materials being used due to the need to cut costs. The M90s are easily identifiable by the rubber bumper that runs around the rim of the helmet.
This M90 has an unusual dark brown peppered /stipple effect over the yellow sand coloured paint which I will be honest I’ve only seen one other with this all others are just plain yellow. The helmets suspension has Arabic writing on the nape strap and on the webbing suspension ( if anyone can translate it I would be most grateful). The helmet you will notice also contains a lot of sand which has stuck between the suspension and washers of the helmet. At the time of purchasing the helmet it was not listed as having sand stuck in it or were there any close up pics of it and so I believe it is original to the helmet. The helmet is quite rusted inside so I presume that this helmet had probably been discarded by its owner during the fighting and left to the elements before being picked up by a soldier and brought back to the UK. I really wish I had asked the seller how he had come by this at the time of purchasing but such is life. Thanks for looking guys cool militaria
