Question M42 Rautarn Helmet - Makers Mark - Series Number ?

On Saturday at the flea-market bought this M42 Rautarn helmet with liner, no decal nor any signs of one being there at all. At the collectors club later on Saturday evening I was bemoaning the fact there was no decal with a fellow collector and couldn’t establish if it was from Heer or Luftwaffe. He said, with the maker’s name and series / batch number I could trace which unit the helmet had been issued to, is this true ?
My helmet has the batch number 5487 the makers mark is a little more difficult being only lightly stamped. What I can read - K reverse C 6 - there were two makers which used K as part of ID mark (Eisenhüttewerke) had CKL and Sächsiche Emaillier had NKL. The 6 I take to be first part of the size number, reverse C no idea. Has perhaps a member / moderator any lists ? and would be able backtrack from the series number 5487 to find out which maker the helmet is from and better still which unit it was issued to. Any information welcome. Regards

M16 police helmet

On a double decal m16 police helmet, would you expect to have a steel banded ww1 style liner or the m31 liner, or we’re both types used.

Need help! Sewing in shoulder boards on a Feldbluse?

Hi guys, I’m restoring this Feldbluse and it had sew in shoulder boards at one point, so I’m trying to add some that I bought, but I can’t get the top fabric to stay in place over the top of the end of the shoulder boards. I sew it all the way through, (top layer > shoulder board > bottom fabric) but the top layer of fabric always pulls back revealing the ends of the shoulder boards, and it looks terrible, despite me pulling the ends nice and taut. Has anyone sewn these in before?

NS66 Army

Hello,
I think im sick or i need to slow down a little bit because this is my fourth one this year you guys saying it is addicting to collect were right. I purchased this helmet its a NS66 Army Heer M40 the batch number i can barely make out that has seen better days but i kinda like the vibe it gives off. I think it was definatly a battle field pickup both sides of the chinstrap are cleanly broken or possibly cut and the liner looks as if it has had some kind of organic matter(blood) because in the areas the inside has seen considerable corrosion including the liner

How much do you think a helmet like this would go for out of curiousity
Thank you for looking
