Question Soviet ammo pouch

I know about 99% of these are fake, so do I add mine to the list?

What’s going on here?

A friend of mine sent me this photograph. No history to it, but she likes it and would like to know a bit more about it. Is there anything apparently obvious to you experts here, that I am missing? (My theory is a little bizarre.)

Question US enlisted mans class A dress uniform (Jumper )

Afternoon Gents I have had this US enlisted mans jumper (Dress blues) in my collection for some time I pulled it out a few days ago and was trying to date it and have had some success well at least I have narrowed it down some but still can not put a definite age to this jumper I do know from my research .
According to Jeff Warner’s book US Navy Uniforms and Insignia 1943-46 Vol 5 states that embroidered labels with Navy Clothing Factory were used from the late 1930s to 1943 with the later ones adding a line for Name and for Rate. In 1943 they switched to the same label but printed not embroidered. In 1944 they added the size and 100% Wool to the label. In 1945 they changed them to Naval Clothing Depot. As with everything in the military, things that are still in the supply system are issued so the older style labels were still issued well after these dates. These are the dated when the manufacturing changed.
There is no mention as to when they stopped using this particular label so I can not date this Jumper positively to a late war piece (1945) or is it post war manufactured there are other white ink marks on the interior of the Jumper as well as the sailors name on the tag but unfortunately they are to faded to make out does any one with a little more experiance with US naval items have any thoughts on this piece as late war or post war issue.

Need help! French members?

Calling all French members!!!

A project that I am currently working on requires many period images of a place with a strong French connection. So, if possible, please contact me for further details. I need the assistance of a French native with regards to contacting certain organisations in France, and your help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Carl

Picked up a Butcher Bayonet Today at A Local Antique Shop

I went out antiquing today and hit a small shop that I had never stopped at before. I asked the owner if he had any militaria, and he brought out this bayonet - A German WW I Butcher Blade. The scabbard was rough, with a good bit of surface rust, but the bayonet itself is in really nice shape - someone put a heavy coat of grease on it - I have removed some, but some of the brown stains can still be seen in my pictures. The bayonet was made by Deutsche Maschinenfabrik, and is dated 1916. The shop owner wanted $150, but I talked him down to $80. This is my first German Bayonet of the WW I period - how did I do?

Help with possible aircraft dial remains

Hi all

A friend of mine has recovered this dial ‘face’. He believes there may have been an aircraft crash site near where he was searching, (he’s an MDer, not a military relic collector), and I have offered to help ID the part. No stamped part numbers on it that he can see.

Part of a compass or navigation calculator ? Odd how it has teeth around the outside……suggests it was part of a moveable dial.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Steve T
