The Kids Helmet Collection

Most of these helmets have been posted individually, on one thread or another, over the past couple of years. Helmet’s have grown to be a large part of my kids militaria collection (possibly because I caught the helmet bug) but sadly we do not have the space or a good way to display them at home. Most of them are on some shelves, in my office, while other are in containers and just laying around the office. However, at the request of my kid to put his entire militaria collection on his web site, we now have a spot where all his helmets can be viewed.

Nothing special and as stated already, most of these have already been posted on the forum at one time or another, but for those that might be interested, here they are again, just click on the link below….

World Helmets - Military Memorabilia Collection on My Airspace

The USN H-3 shown on the web site is no longer part of his collection, I just have not removed from the site yet. He’s got a couple to add, will do so in the next week or so when his (OK my) new Bulgarian M36 arrives.

Enjoy

Where do runner marks come from?

Ever wonder why this happens and some will say ” From alot of in and out of the scabbard”,,which is true! The real truth lays within the scabbard. Along with some other future threads I am working on,, this one is a must.
Returning vets who found these virgin gems decided to do what is best to keep rust off and keeping metal sliding in and out of the scabbard easily. This was many a noble thought at that present time……BUT…..70 years later that TLC they thought were doing was drying over the decades. Everything dries over time…Everything! even oil and lubricants harden.
I posted 2 photos for the time being of what happens to a scabbard runner after these many years,,, and in turn,,,a hardened surface on the high ridges of the runner and the end result that many have seen on their SA and SS daggers. This is most of the time but there are some political daggers that were just left alone and not helped with a thick oil lubricant. I will show the before and after process of the runners,, and treating it with Ren Wax to give that smooth glide into the scabbard with that little tight “click’ at the end,,, as it sounded back in the 1930s. Below is before and after photo of the runner. I will post this topic in its entirety in the very near future. Regards Larry

What holster for a commercial Mauser M1910

What would be the proper holster to match a 22xxxx commercial Mauser Model 1910 pistol? In 6.35mm or .25 caliber.

Are these hard to find or available and what would be an estimated price range as per condition?

Thanks, dastier

German Medal Identification

Hi everyone. I am new to your site. I have purchased a 1914 German Medal, am I am wondering if anyone can tell me about it.
Is it real? What does the inscription say? What does the F stand for?

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,

German helmet with Blue and Red decals

I have an question to those of you who has experience with german helmet decals. I would like to know if someone has seen a helmet with blue and red decals, on one or both sides. Of cource other colour combinationes is of interest as well.

The decals can indeed look "homemade", but still i would very much like to see such helmet.
