I have a question for historians of this forum:
an important Italian collector told me that the cap with the ribbons fluttering was not very appropriate for the submarines during the war and sailors, sometimes, put a short ribbons without the tails … can be true?
Actually I have been viewing many photos and in some of this the tails of ribbon are missing …

WWII USMC Camo Cover and Helmet
I’ve got this one in a while ago and just got around to taking pictures. Camo cover is in very nice condition and has the slits which I believe is 2nd Pattern. It’s named to Deppen on the long chinstrap. Liner is a Firestone and you can see wear around the eyelet from where an EGA once rested. Helmet is Fixed Bail and I added on the liner chinstrap for looks.

New to forum help need on dagger purchase

My name is Peter Boardman from New Zealand.
Ive been collecting for about 5 years with what ive been able to purchase on the NZ market.
Im looking at a dagger on a site called germanwarbooty.com.
It is a heer dagger with no maker mark and has a bit of info on owner and a pic of him (Hugo Lemarie).
If anyone could give their thoughts on it It would be a great help for me.
I will try and post a few picks soon of a couple of my own daggers.

Question Original Early post-war MINTY SSh 40 Helmet????
Hi,
I just got it on hold and i would appreciate your oppinion on this Soviet Helmet.
The number of rivets (6) and its position on the lower portion of the shell tells me its a SSh40 Soviet helmet.
The stamp marks shows that its a size 1 (small) and was produced in 1948.
The three parts linner looks OK. I don’t know about the chin strap.
My question is:
I looks to good to be true.
Is there anything wrong that i let pass ("red flags")???
All the parts are originals???
