Pictures of German soldiers at Arromanches, Normandy

Here are two pictures that were taken at Arromanches, Normandy, before June 6, 1944. Thought they might be of some interest to some of you.

very RARE pattern Waffen-SS CUT-OFF sleeve eagle

Description: Hello all,

Here’s your chance to pick up an exceptionally rare sleeve eagle. Only a handful of this accepted late-war pattern are on the forum - some thought these were SS-Para smock eagles and another forum member has a black wrapper with one applied. Eagle is mounted on coarse field grey wool and is obviously cut directly from the combat tunic. This is very rare bird right out of my personal collection.

Question US Aircraft Gauge Panel Photo

This appears to be a Plexiglas mock-up of an aircraft gauge panel, shown from the rear, but I am not knowledgeable with aircraft so have no idea which it might be. Does anyone have any ideas as to what aircraft this gauge panel would belong to?

GaugePanel.jpg

This photo, I found with a group of other photos of individual gauges, all with clear Plexiglas cases. All of the photos are 8 x 10 inches and each is stamped on the back “OFFICIAL PHOTO For Official Use Only Photographed by U. S. Army Air Corps”. So that helps narrow it down to a US plane of WWII or earlier. Marked on the folder, the photos came in, it reads “Rohm & Haas Plexiglas Mockups Pictures. I know Rohm & Haas made Plexiglas canopies for many US aircraft, I guess they were the likely choice when these clear mock-ups were needed.

Thanks in advance,

Russ & Son

Need help! ID of this Pack?

I was digging through a pile of US web gear today and came across this pack that I had not seen before. I’ve been poking around the internet all day and have not been able to put an ID on it (I’m probably just looking for the wrong thing) so maybe someone can help me out. The kid says it’s German so I posted it here. If this is incorrect, can someone please move to the correct location?

There are no markings at all, that I can find, other than the name and what looks to be a service number. The sir name “Gouws” is French I believe.

Question Got this medal in box for $20, did i do well?

Hi, got this medal from an online auction, was marked as US Navy Medal but If im not mistaken its a Distinguished Service Cross with its Original box, looks like the service bar and other items are on a uniform somewhere, still for $20 hopefully I did pretty good, and can even trade it for a ww2 german item or a good sale!
Thanks Everyone
