Need help! Help with diary handwriting!

Hello, All!

I recently found the service diary of 2nd Lt. John J. Kane in the trash. He served as a bombardier on a B24 in the Pacific. The diary is extremely detailed and is FILLED with interesting and important information, as well as poetry, photos, newspaper clippings, etc. As such, I am trying my best to type it all up so it’ll be accessible to all!

I have just started typing up 2nd Lt. Kane’s diary, and as I go, I am able to learn his hand-writing style.

Unfortunately, I have just come upon my first roadblock. PLEASE HELP!

According to 2nd Lt. Kane, he left Fairfield Army Airfield (California) on March 4th, 1945.

He then arrived at a place whose name I simply cannot read… it appears to be "Maslzab" or "Maolzab"…? Can anyone make heads or tails of this? He was at this mystery location between March 20th and April 24th, 1945.

I would assume that the mystery location is out in the Pacific somewhere simply because of his next location…

On April 24th he left the mystery location and arrived on Morotai on May 8th, 1945.

Here is the best shot my crap cellphone will allow of his handwriting:

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION!!

First Aid In War - Small Handbook

I’ve had this for a while now and was wondering whether anyone had anything similar as I was unable to find a similar item online (research purposes). It was written by F.A Hawksworth and was issued in February 1944. It’s also signed by Hawksworth, in what appears to be a blue fountain pen.

Many thanks,
Jordan
