M51a1 wwii parachute red star

Hello,

I have just gotten a M51A1 WWII PARACHUTE RED STAR and was wondering if you could tell me if it is rare or not, what the value is, and weather part of it is still "live". If you need pictures I will post them tomorrow or the next day.

My wall o’ helmets!!

Well if it is good enough for Doug to show off HIS wall then so can I :) - here is my ( garden ) wall o- helmets!!!!!!!!!!!
Some I have posted threads about, others yet to come. They have come via EBay, websites, acquaintances and guys here on the forum ( thanks Samir, Wayne, Jason and others )

6 are complete, 4 are good orig. painted shells and the rest relics to some degree from good to poor - but ALL tell a story.
I know some go for quality, others quantity and still others whatever they can afford or comes their way - this is me.

These 16 helmets owe me less that ONE SS helmet or a HEER double decal … mind you, I’d love one of those but my imagination can run wild thinking about all the possible scenarios of the owners of these - and their fate - the areas they came from and battles they saw.

Hope you enjoy the "vista" ……. it’s a disease I tell ya!
Cheers, Dan

‘42 Izhevsk ex-Sniper. Perhaps my restoration project?

I’ve been looking for an ex-sniper to restore. I’ve wanted either a Tula CH or Cn marked rifle or something other than a ‘43 or ‘44 Izhevsk. I found this ‘42 that looks pretty nice. The scope number was scrubbed when the scope rail holes were filled and ground off. The bore is a little dark but the barrel is clean and the lands/grooves are shiny sharp. I need to run some rounds through it before I determine if I want to restore it or not. In any case, I’m pleased with it at this point in the game.

The tang is double-stamped and I originally thought it read 1948F - somone pointed out the double stamp and you can slearly see a second 4 below the upper one.
