A war find at work!

I currently work on aviation fuel tanks in the UK, the ones I currently work on were built in the 1930-40 period by German Prisoners of war.

The inspection company we are currently using have done several inspections on the tanks over years and told me they have found some SS symbols found on the floor (made in weld)

Today they showed me a Swastika that is still present even after 70 years of use, will grab a pic of it in the next few days, it really suprised me.

No wonder the tanks have lasted so long being German built, if they were british no doubt they would be like a sieve by now lol

Found this interesting chart on the net. It may interest KM fans. If you click on the pic it should expand

Russian,T34/76A,Tank,recovery

Hi Guys &Gals
Came across article about a Russian T34/76A tank with German markings, recovered with 116 shells still on board from a lake bed in Estonia. Evidently this Russian tank was captured by the Germans and probably saw battle on the Narva Front in 1944. Military Historians and locals dragged it from the lake bed intact and in excellent condition, and they claim it didn’t need much fiddling to get the motor running.
I tried to post the pictures but never had much luck with that. There’s 13 picks plus a page of story line so it’s quite a large file.
If anyone is interested you can Email me and I’ll gladly send you the complete file. Maybe you’ll have better luck posting it. It’s too good to discard and needs posting so other members can drool over it also. Cheers.

Need help with some folding shovels

Picked up two Ames 1945 US folding shovels today. One is in semi relic state(looks like it sat in a lake for some time) and the other in pretty good shape. Now to my problem, both are stuck to where the shovel blade is outward. I can’t turn the unscrewy part at all, or find a spot to let some WD40 soak in. Any ideas? Someone tried to take a pipe wrench to one to get it to move but that didn’t work. So I need your guys help.

Thanks,
George

Belt&Buckle From Brimfield Show

Purchased a heer buckle and belt this past weekend. Prices were relatively high on german militaria but I did not pass up this set -
Julius Kremp IKA 40 buckle with 1941 tab. Belt has a 1940 date on it, a D&C hook and was cut down.

The dealer also had an HJ buckle and belt but I was unsure of its authenticity - buckle appeared to be chromed over steel with M4/44 mark; rust was coming through on edges. The belt had an RZM in circle followed by a number set and an SS in a circle. Should I have gotten it?
