Ideas for a collection centerpiece

Hello All,

I’ve found out that next month I’ll be coming into a couple hundred dollars. I have a few things in my collection now but I’d like something that would be it’s highlight until I can get something more rare. I’ve been shopping around and just can’t decide what to get, a flag, a helmet etc. I’m at a loss. Most of my collection so far is T.R but I do have my share of Allied items. If anyone can recommend something in that price range that would stand out I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks Very Much!

Medal and Badge Collection

Several years ago, a gentleman contacted me about an SA dagger he had. Nothing more came of it until last week. He wanted to sell the dagger so I made an appointment to visit him the same day as he lived less than two miles away. When I arrived, he showed me a pristeen early SA dagger with 3-piece hanger, a salty small political flag and the following case of medals and badges. As there is nothing I wish to keep in the medal and badge collection, I will be phtographing them individually and posting them on this thread over the next week. The man was not a serious collector and put the collection together in the early 1970’s. Luckily, all of it was genuine material. Here are a few pictures of the material. I will be placing the items in the For Sale section of the Forum. I may offer the total group at a discounted price.

Need help identifying some feldpost

The first one is a feldpostkarte but I am not able to read the Absender or identify the stamp and I wonder from where it was sent, here is picture of the absender text and stamp:

The second one is also a feldposrt karte, same here, I’m not able to read the absender or identify the stamp and I wonder from where it was sent, here is picture of the absender text and stamp:

Next one has no good stamp but there is a written absender which I can not read, here is pictures:

P5260519.jpg

P5260518.jpg

Then I have a letter to a RAD man from 1938, maybe someone can give me more information about hes post as I can nonly read RAD 5/40. Here is a picture

P5260520.jpg

Next one is a beautiful postcard with the Brandenburger Tor with a stamp saying A*ademie der luftwaffe - 1. Kompanie - But I can not the text before "a*ademie" - Maybe someone can?

P5260522.jpg

Then i have a post card with a cute dog, but I can’t find the feldpost number in the data base. Maybe I am reading it wrong? I tryed 03185, 03785, 63185, 73185…

P5260524.jpg

Last one, a very late feldpost letter stamped 20.3.45 from feldpost number 00394 which I can not find in the data base. I got an answer before, ((1.8.1943-23.3.1944) Stab und Einheit Marine-Flak-Abteilung 222.) but since this is in 45, not 43-44 I guess it is not correct?

P5260526.jpg

I hope someone can help me figure this out so I can start researching them!

Need Help!! Translation of Wehrpass To Obergefreiten Zumb?

Hi Chaps, I’m really struggling with this one, even with the basic details on page 3!! I’m not even sure his name is Zumb:mad: Anyway, I’d be very grateful for any info that can be added to the below, particularly page 3, his units on page 12, where he served pages 32/33 & the places he was during Operation Citadel on page 34 : -

Wehrpass belonging to Infantry Corporal ??Zumb?? who served on the Russian Front and was assigned to Sturm-Regiment 195?? and killed during the Battle for Kursk in July 1943.
On 7th July 1943 Cpl Zumb is documented on page 34 as receiving a bauchschuss,(shot to the stomach) in ??? while fighting on the Northern sector of the Kursk salient in ??? southeast of Orel, Russia. He died (gestorben) the following day, 8th July 1943, in field hospital? 178 in ???
Page 32 and Page 33 shows this soldier had previously served in France. On 22 June 1941 he crossed the Russian Border and participated in numerous battles leading up to and including the Russian counter offensive before Moscow on 5 December 1941.
Page 23 shows the award of the East Medal (Russian Front Medal) 1941/42 on 5 August 1942
Page 22 shows promotions to Gefreiten and Obergefreiten

Thanks in advance for any help,

Cheers,

Richard.

Breda 30 LMG in 6.5 Carcano

My Breda 30 LMG in 6.5 Carcano. I was lucky enough to find a spare parts set and 15 of the U shaped clips to load the magazine. Surprisingly it works flawlessly.

Some finds on Bitburg Base
