hey guys i need your help, i was offered this Panzerkampfabzeichen, it has a broken pin and the makers mark looks a bit wierd to me but im not an expert so i was wondering if its a fake or not.

here’s my now complete LWH Ive been waiting for the goggles to turn up & after nearly 3 weeks they finally did

so to start i would like to say i did make a boo boo with the cover i ordered it off a site called USMCBLUES but like an idiot failed to ask them if they were the new or old type before i placed the order so when it turned up it turned out to be the new type :p but im going to make do with what Ive got & it looks OK for display cool militaria Ive also taken the liberty of emulating the use of cable ties as goggle retention devices let me know what ya think is it cool militaria or notcool .

I have seen this one for sale. The cross pin looks identical in detail to a mm4 on the KVK appreciation thread. The case is worn, but still together. Does this look OK? Priced at $175

Hi there,
I’ve been offered this helmet by the same chap who sold me my current helmet; it has a lot of the paint flaking off, but the decal’s survived very well, I assume as a result of its metallic nature/being pressed on to the shell. However, it will be very delicate; he says that the helmet could be coated with a matt clear substance to preserve it. What’re the thoughts as to the helmet/situation? I wouldn’t know how to go about doing this…

Hi All,
I was contacted the other day by a gentlemen on Craigslist who had a few helmets he was looking to sell. I was quite surprised to find that one was an original WWII Westinghouse Airborne Liner. It comes with it’s original late war, cotton web, 4-hole chin-cup however also has the early double buckle headband. So basically an early liner (42′ or later) with late war Airborne components. Everything is original to the helmet. I have, however, procured a correct nape strap and leather chinstrap to complete the liner.

The liner was repainted post war and has post war applied 11th Airborne decals. It is named as well and my research shows the soldier enlisted in 1946. However, I was able to locate his death certificate (from Fort Brag in the 1960’s when he was still in service) and his lists his service start date as 1944. So I assume his 1946 enlistment was his second. I’ve sent away for his records which will hopefully shed some light on his service.

In any case, I hope you enjoy the photos!
