MkII Helmet , named and with desert finish

Here is another lid I never actually posted up here. Had it for about 10 years now. Its a nice MkII tommy helmet, that started life in its normal rough finish green and then has been overpainted in a desert tan. The finish is fantastic and I have no doubt of its originality. It comes complete with liner and chinstrap. The liner is in a good state, not to dry but no markings I can see. Chinstrap fasteners are marked ‘II 1940′ .Chinstrap is still there, though the springs are getting tired on one side. Its named to an G.R.Coutts. Not sure if he served with the Brits or the Aussies. From memory the small research I did, 2 hits came up in the Aussie war registry, but its as far as I went.

On the fence weather to move this one on, as I have had it a long time and no longer have it on display due to room.

Cheers
Jason

Two Japanese Type 90 Helmets

Hi Guys,

I am getting ready for the Military swapmeet we will be having next weekend, so at the moment I have a heap of stuff out which I havent posted before, so here it goes

These are my 2 type 90’s that sit with my Type38 Arisaka. The first I aquired recently. Nice army issue, with original star. The part that drew me to this lid was the damage and the fact its come from inside out. There are some Japanese characters scratched into the paint on the back of the helmet as well, which I believe is a name (I wish I did Japanese at school now). No liner but you can see a shadow of one of the pads on the inside so I would assume it was taken out due to blood damage, pins are still there though. Some stamping in the back, S in a diamond and the size character.

Helmet came out of the states as an estate sale but I cant guarantee that.

1914 french infantryman ,26th regt ,mannikin

Heres my ongoing attempt to complete the uniform of a French Infantryman of the first few months of war . Unlucky man tio have faced the machineguns wearing this, which hardly changed since the Crimea ! The 26th Regt collar patches are original , ive added them , wheras the cap was a barn find in Normandy . This i had to re build adding peak and patching over hugely mothed area . The numerals i made.
