I was invited to see a friends medals and badges. He allowed me to take a couple of shots to post on the forum. They are tucked away in his attic unfortunately and not on display. Anyway something different for you to see. I know the shots are not the best but just a general overview.

Hello People, My dad is a builder but has been working on his own yard in sheffield and has dug this up and im quite convinced its an artillery shell and may well still be live. Can anyone confirm what it might be. The end where it was caught by the digger and more worryingly potentially the fuse is like a tough fibre material the rest of the case seems to be badly corroded cast or steel. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Although slightly rusty on the outside this is a typical look of a home guard helmet. It’s a MkII No.2 C but instead of normally being grey on the inside this one is smooth khaki green but the outside is khaki gritty matt finnish. It had obviously had a net on for a long time as you can see where it has left it’s mark.
Both shell & liner are dated 1940 & made by BMB.

Ive been reading about a lot of battles here in Germany and they often reference to hills as a number. Im looking at doing some relic hunting but I want to help narrow down areas of intense fighting. Does anyone know if there is a map that shows the hill numbers? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!
What started with an HJ pin, in the last week has grown to a salty, named belt and buckle, named bread bag,PUMA HJ knife with motto and HJ armband….all on the way!!!!
