Hi have been given an M35 relic helmet written on the inner skirt is Obwn Kissel , is the Obwn the first name or an abbreviation of a rank.

A friend of mine is doing some research on the above character. Apparently he was of gentry and came from a big family. His name was Col Francis Augustus Plunkett Burton former Coldstream Guard who fought in the Crimean War. Anyone know of any good ref sites to start any research on him?

I thinking of buying this as a display helmet. I generally collect US m-1s but thought I would branch out a little.

He is asking $145. Has damage on top and liner is shot. The band is still there.

is this visor a late one ? the wool is coarse
