Question Hitler Youth daggers, dress daggers/ bayonets in combat?

I just received my first Hitler Youth knife. While admiring it, I remembered the scene in Saving Private Ryan where the Americans find a Hitler Youth knife on a Germany body in the Omaha Beach fortifications.

I got to thinking… Is there any documented use of Hitler Youth knives in combat? I can easily imagine that when Hitler Youth members were pressed into combat duties they brought their HJ daggers with them…

Expanding from that, were dress daggers and dress bayonets ever used in combat? Obviously they wouldn’t be a preferred weapon, but surely there must have been at least one instance of a dress dagger being wielded in desperation?

RZM M7/2 1938 (Emil Voos Waffenfabrik) Hitler Youth Dagger. MY FIRST HJ!

I recently received this Hitler Youth dagger from Paul at Lakeside Trader. He was AMAZING to do business with! Although I do not consider myself a collector of edged weapons (I own bayonets to all of my rifles and a WWI sawback bayonet) I am very proud of my first HJ dagger! … It might not be my last! ;)

To complete this grouping, I’d love to add a HJ armband, a HJ identification/ service card, and some proficiency badges.

**Special thanks to Roger for the membership pin, and Paul for the dagger!**

I hope you enjoy!

Fake Feldpost?

I’ve heard a few places that a 0 on the day date of a feldpost would represent a fake. This one I got in a lot from a soldier who was station in France (with post number 30531). I was curious if this is true, and for that part is this letter a fake?
