Complete N00b question here but….. many times you see things posted for sale and they say … "never been in a collection"… what’s the difference if the item "was" in a collection..?? is it beacuse it would you wouldnt be the first collector to own it? I’m not getting what the big deal is.

Sorry in advance. I know a ton about m1 helmets…just getting interested in German helmets. I have another thread going on a m40 that I might buy.
The guy who has the m40..also has a Luftschutz. I like it, but not as much as the m40. He is asking $200 for the civil defense helmet. Is that the going rate for these?
