German Headgear grouping display cabinet

Hi chaps,

After going mad decorating for the last six months getting everything ready for the new baby arrival (1st of march!) I’ve just finished me and the wifes bedroom.

I treated myself to a new display cabinet to get everything that was hidden away in boxes out in the open!

Surpisingly the wife didn’t object and is actually impressed with it!

Whilst Erkennungsmarken are not really my thing I love reference material.
I picked up this little gem ex UK last week.
Sorry about the order of the images but I still have not worked out how to swap them around.

My Veterans badges

Another side of my collecting has been various veterans associations items. There is, as I’m sure you all know, a wide variety out there, and still not overly expensive, as a rule. Unknown item - help please!

I have had this piece for many years, and was led to believe it was some sort of Imperial German item. Can anyone identify this for me at all? It is 30mm across. Or could it be a veterans association item? Thanking you!
