Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse, ohne Schwertern by Deumer

Hi guys,

I picked this up today for $70! It is a late KVK1 without swords by Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid. I got one with swords recently for the same price, so this was a pretty lucky find.

In my opinion, a great way to go out of 2011 with a bang. I hope you guys like it.

Happy New Year,
Mo

I am a WW1 virgin, so would like your thoughts on this one. I have seen it for sale, and the guard is damaged. Having said that, for $100 I still think it is a nice item to hang on the wall. I would guess it to be Prussian late 19th Century. Any thoughts appreciated.

Order of the Red Star

Well, I did say I wanted to add CCCP (and Polish) militaria to the collection and I found this, most beautiful designed medal, Order of the Red Star. The Red Star has always been captivating to me, much like the swas. With no disrespect, I have always considered the USSR as an Axis Power…..Katyn and Soviet occupation in Poland for over 40 years comes to mind. Anyways, here’s the award and it has not been researched and I don’t know what year it was awarded. I do know the award was given to persons with exceptional service to the motherland.

Purple Heart WW2 cased

Forum friends:shok_yikes:

As you know, this is a Purple Heart an my example is in good condition and it’s in a minty case. They came together and the award is engraved by the military as they were for KIA soldiers. Surviving recipients were awarded with ungraved Purple Hearts. As I stated on a different thread, the name will be covered. He was a Lt. as shown and he was KIA in Japan 1945. Enjoy the pics.

The Red Arrows

As 2011 draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to remember the wonderful team that is the one and only Red Arrows. For them, this has been a difficult year. This forum has documented their sad losses, and many have left kind messages in response to these posts. Although the following images are far from great, I wanted to simply share them with you all, so that together we can appreciate them for what they are. Special.

Regards, and may I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2012.
