To all who live in or near central Ontario, the ‘Toronto Military Show’
is happening this Saturday, September 17th at the
Etobicoke Olympium. 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
I try to attend these shows as often as I can. Great for buying,
selling and meeting other like minded collectors………
I am curious about an ss officers buckle I have that has no markings on the back side.Has anyone ever encountered this before?I had a well known ss expert look at this about 10 years ago,and tell me the buckle was good.I cannot supply a picture
at this time, because it is still packed away from our move to Florida.I will try and dig it out soon,but if you can tell me your opinions,I would be most appreciative.

This uniform from Sgt W.W. Conner was passed on to me about 30 years ago from a close friend who in turn received it from a relative of Sgt Conner. Sgt Conner served with Company M, 6th Regt, Mass National Guard. He served throughout Puerto Rico during the Spanish American War in 1898. Among his possessions was his diary which covers his day by day experience starting on May 5, 1898 and ending October 16, 1898 when he was coming home having been hospitalized for malaria. The daily entries describe camp life, clothing issue, battles and in general daily life during the war. His uniform consist of private purchase Campaign hat, Tunic with marksmanship badges on collar and marksmanship medal on chest, white Sgt stripes. 45-70 Cart belt with Mass buckle, Canteen, Haver Sack. Pants with white stripe, Canvas leggings and 3/4 boots. A pretty much complete NCO documented uniform from the little known war.
I’ve been "out of the game" in regards to militaria collecting and it feels good to acquire a few pieces. I recently bought these two posters from a local auction gallery. I was able to leave with two however, I wished my billfold was billowing with money for there were 18 more up for auction!… The "over the top" poster has a section missing in the upper corner and is affixed to poster board so, that one is a keeper for my wall.. However, the "Hun or Home" poster is applied on canvas and I may decide on selling for I can ship it easily. The poster is in remarkable shape and your comments are always welcomed.
