M35 DD LW Bomber crew helmet and display.

M35 DD 2nd LW. SE68 / Lot nr: 250. Bombcrew helmet for use over leather flight helmet.

The normal German steel helmets (here a M35) were worn by flight crews commonly during the WWII.
A great deal of photographic documentation attests to this.
Crew members would either use large size helmets or helmets from which the liner had been removed so
that they would fit comfortably over their flight helmets with radio gear.
A Luftwaffe helmet air crews wore in flight when participating in raids with heavy anti-aircraft fire.

Under the M35 there is a:

Dräger model 10-6702 Oxygen mask.
The clip is marked Dräger. The mask’s housing is marked “10-6702 A1” and Gr 1.(size 1)
It is also marked with the Dräger manufacturing code: “byd”.
The mask is made of black rubber and were used primarily by bomber crews.

The flight goggles are manufactured by Leitz.
This small, two piece model has a single screw adjustment on the linking crossbar.
The frame is aluminium with clear glass lenses and a rubber face mask.
Sliding vents were provided in the bottom of each of the frames.

Need help! 72 seaforth highlanders overseas battalion cap badge ?

Ok gents picked up this sweet 72 Seaforth Highlanders Overseas Battalion badge today I have searched the forum have googled it have checked in my book on Canadian military insignia and can not find one to compare it to I am starting to wonder if it is a collar insignia and not a cap badge at all . It is not a regular issue cap badge or an nco or officers issue as far as I can find anyway My question is was this badge issued post WW-1 to commemorate service overseas or was it issued to overseas battalion during WW-2 do to it being small and dark in nature I am confused as to why I can not find reference to it any help would be appreciated.

Help with Document - Pz. Regiment 33

Well, Ive been researching/translating a bunch of documents from a Feldwebel in Panzer Regiment 33 "Prinz Eugen" (9th Pz. Div.) and I am stuck on something here. The man was killed in action in Russia 1940, and all of his items were sent to his wife. I have already gone through the documents for his death and his 4 year service award/etc etc. Now Ive come upon this one, which to my knowledge (still trying to learn German, and do use an E-translator often), says that Josef was awarded the Bulgarian Order of Bravery 1st Class, which can be found on the wehrpass etc etc.

My question is….does it say he was awarded the order Posthumously, since it was dated 1943?…(he died in 1940)? Most of his other docs were sent to his wife only 2 months after his death.
Also, was this awarded to many Panzertruppe? I am curious about this Order, because he was only 28 years old when he died. From what Ive read, it seems most were awarded in WW1. Could be wrong, so I was hoping for any info on this specific order and why a Panzertruppe would be awarded it.?
Thank you VERY much for any help/opinions.

(i have many other docs from him, as well as many others from this Regiment that I have not finished researching, so I may have a couple questions later on too) haha

Need help! Small childs U.S. navy uniform

As we were checking out the second hand and antique stores yesterday my wife and I came across this wonderfull childs uniform . I am not up on Naval insignia or uniforms but from what I can tell the trousers appear to be navy bell bottoms and I believe the seamans pull over shirt , trousers and cap are of WW-2 era it is all constructed of wool and the workmanship that went into building this uniform is excellent. The uniform did come with a black silk scarf but I forgot to take a picture of it and it would appear by the button holes in the waist band of the trousers that it would have come with a small set of suspenders but I am unshur. I have never seen another one quite like it I am trying to figure out when this uniform would have been built and by who if anyone could be of assistance or has any comments they would be welcome.

Regards Mark K
