some help with Russian…

Hi,

This page comes from a Polish passport, issued in Moscow of 1922, early after the 1921 treaty…would someone be able to help in understanding this stamp and hand writing?

Thanks,
Neil

Discovery in Potenza Picena, former 4th Skorpion garrison.

During a visit this May to research a Polish uncle who lived in this town from 1944 to 1946 was shown an interesting artifact. When I asked the owner, the town historian & my interpreter if they realized what they had their reply was ‘we have no idea’. They had thought it was some old mannequin from a forgotten town parade or event. After showing them some old photos my excellent hosts were happily shocked to learn that what stood before them was a direct connection to Monte Cassino and the Skorpion regiment’s monument erected in May 1946. According to the owner the Knight mannequin came with the house when he purchased it. The premises back in 1944/46 was the regiment’s headquarters for that period. I’ve read that it’s construction was overseen by Second Lieutenant (ppor) Mieczyslaw Bialkiewicz. Many soldiers had their photos taken with this Knight. Have posted photos with the permission of the owner, last photo is from my album.

That is has survived this long was a completely unexpected discovery, the absolute last thing I expected to find, WOW!

Hope this is of interest to some.
Chris……….

SS fake double decal?

Well I am 99.9% sure this is a fake lid. Decals look too pointed on the bottom, and too close to the vent compared with originals I have seen. Liner has the ‘ribbing’ by the forehead, and the paper tag just says "fake" to me. Can anyone please confirm my suspicions.Attachment 210355Attachment 210356Attachment 210357

Help with ID of British helmet.

Hello all!

I bought this helmet more than 10 years ago at a local gun show. From what I remember, it was incredibly cheap.

Can anyone provide me with any additional information on it? Is it authentic? Is the camo paint authentic or is it something the vendor did to raise the price on it?

Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I’ll take better pictures if necessary…

I am a high school history teacher and have brought it in along with a few other helmets in my modest collection for my students… It was a tense situation as a handful of my students aren’t always exactly the best behaved. With that being said, sharing the helmets with them was a hit and I’ll continue to do so for years to come.

What do you guys think?!
