Militaria and WW2 history forum and topsites. Sõja ajaloo portaal.
I’m quite a newbie in this subject so I need your help. I’ve just received this Luftwaffe pilot’s badge which I ordered from what I believe a trustworthy and experienced internet store that sells militaria. The site stated it was authentic and I can’t find anything that looks fake on it (I’ve tried to compare it on lots of pictures of both fake and authentic ones here on the internet). It lacks any makers mark on it.
I just want to have it confirmed that it is authentic. And if it is, is someone able to tell me who the maker is?
Even though the insects have been merrily chewing away on this one, I still like it a lot because it’s obviously a true combat veteran judging by the heavy stains on the lining and grimey tide mark around the bottom of the cap. The chincords have never been off this cap of that I’m sure and the patina and cracks of the peak are just wonderful I think. cool militaria
A salty veteran from probably my favourite mutzenmacher.
Is he the same man? The places of death are miles apart:confused: But his home towns & age are close. Here’s the details from German War Graves : -
