Hello Folks, I read back through a few pages of threads, to see if this topic was touched on, I couldn’t find anything, a few close, And I apologize if I am asking a question thats common knowledge, but apparently not to me, LOL
I have an M42 Luffwaffe single decal, decal painted over, like I have seen many before, outline of decal is visable, Can that paint be removed carefully with a fine rubbing compound, or somthing simular to expose the decal? or leave it be!! from a display purpose it would be nice to have, be I don’t want to ruin whats there, which is the original wartime paint over. Advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Extremely rare WW1 Saxon Albert Order, Knight Class. Beautiful white enamel cross with crossed swords. Center medallion has a bust of Albert surrounded by a blue enamel ring reading "ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS". Obverse has Crown with Shield and date 1850. Blue enamel ring darker than pictured due to flash on camera. Green and white ribbon. (may be a replacemnt ribbon). No chips to enamel. Very scarce and desirable Saxon award. Will list till Sat evening 16th then off to e-bay. $450 delivered.
Interesting find, well to me anyway! Got this for $16 dollars. the previous owner had unstitched it to use as a display base. My mate has one of these, unstitched.
You can see that at some stage there was an attempt to de-nazify the eagle. But what surprised me is tha it is stamped inside and outside. I thought it was just bleed through from the front stamping, but it is printed correctly on both sides, I can only assume these were made in long bolts of cloth, and stamping the both sidee would make it simpler just to sew them up at the end…..any other theories?
Think I will keep it unstitched, make a nice shelf cover!
I did not really know where I should post this bu I hope here will work. Need help identifying this ring. Marked china on one side and 1945 on the other. with chinese characters inside. it appears to be an adjustable ring but is very heavy duty .
I have no picture but maybe some one can help me regardless. A friend has an old British Webley military revolver. Its an older one possibly an 1890s era. Maybe Boer War. Not the later WW2 model. Pretty beat up but all there. Below the hammer on the but strap its stamped RFC in small letters. Its a period scrip type stamping. He thought it stood for Royal Forces Canadian. I thought it might be Royal Flying Corps. Anybody have any input? I know its hard to say without a pic. Thanks
